Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia is an established Ugandan businessman. He is a renowned entrepreneur whose influence stretches beyond the financial realm to the humanitarian. Dr. Ruparelia is the chairman of Goldstar Insurance Co Ltd and the lucrative Ruparelia Group.

MRS. JYOTSNA RUPARELIA (UGANDAN)

DIRECTOR

Mrs. Jyotsna Ruparelia is a qualified banker with vast experience in finance. She has worked in some of the leading international financial organizations such as Midland Bank, now HSBC. She is a Director in the Ruparelia Group.

MR. AZIM THARANI (UGANDAN)

DIRECTOR

Azim joined Goldstar Insurance in April 1996 as its Managing Director and has steered Goldstar over its 20-year history, to be amongst the top five insurers in Uganda. Azim is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of ICPAU. With his background and experience in finance and management, Goldstar has consistently achieved rising underwriting profit each year and has one of the strongest balance sheets. Azim has also played an active role in various capacities as an Executive Member of the UIA. He was instrumental in setting up of Uganda Re and most recently in launching the Oil and Gas Syndicate. Azim has also provided honorary service in various capacities to the community and the Indian association.

MR. JOSHUA SAMUEL KARAMAGI (UGANDAN)

Joshua has extensive experience in Auditing, Finance, and Management Consultancy. Joshua trained as an accountant with PwC. He has subsequently held a number of senior positions in the Public Sector including Makerere University, NSSF, and Uganda Electricity Generation Company. While an Assistant Commissioner (Treasury) at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, he was in charge of monetary and fiscal policy for Uganda country budget.

MRS. SHEILA NAMAHE (UGANDAN)

DIRECTOR

Sheila has over 8 years’ experience gained in a demanding legal environment. She is currently the Managing Partner at Maxim Magara Advocates. She has a Law Degree from Makerere University in Kampala, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre and a Masters Degree in International Trade from Shanghai University in China. In addition to her other duties, Sheila heads up Maxim Magara Advocates China Practice.
